It was an honor to have the opportunity to discuss efficiency policy and the roles of public sector training institutions in implementing it with our mentor, Mr. Tri Widodo W. Utomo, yesterday.
Training institutions must innovate to fulfill their roles in implementing efficiency policies and training government officials to design effective programs and activities. Therefore, these institutions should be more adaptable and change their mindsets to positively impact society as a whole.
As discussed in the conversation, I suggested that training institutions should take a more active role in enhancing the capacity of public sector officials in planning and budgeting. Although the concept of planning and budgeting has been extensively discussed, in practice, public officials still encounter challenges in designing well-structured programs and activities. Conversely, efficiency policies impose pressure on public officials to design effective programs and activities.
I also suggested that training institutions should create training content on designing better programs and activities. This content will empower public officials to provide more effective products and services to the people.
